I have a bunch of ad blockers installed with Safari on Mojave and ads are getting through. I'm using Safari 12.0 on Mac OS X 10.14. What has Apple done to break ad blocking? This may be the last straw. I have one adblocker installed in Chrome and its effectively blocking ads.
Unless I find a solution, I will give up on Safari until this is fixed. I currently have extensions installed for - Ka-Block! - AdBlock Engine - Adblock Plus They're still letting ads through. 'AdBlock' on Chrome is working perfectly. I have a bunch of ad blockers installed with Safari on Mojave and ads are getting through.
AdBlock 2.1.10 has a new Beta feature where it stops ads from 'Being downloaded'. I turned this off and everything is back to how it should be. Phew, I thought I was going to have to go back to Firefox there for a minute. Download and install the best ad blocker for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari on your Mac for free. This tutorial will show you how to prevent advertisements from appearing while surfing the web. The ad blocker will stop all ads including pop up, video, banner, and every other kind of ads from.

'AdBlock' on Chrome is working perfectly. Use and enable the old Adblock extension. It is called Adblock.safariextz. Once you find it either in a Time Machine backup or somewhere on the web, go to Library/Safari/Extensions and paste it in there. If you no longer have an extensions folder then just create one. The regular 'AdBlock' not Adblock Plus works great for me on 10.14 Safari 12.0. No ads in Youtube and only some non-intrusive ads elsewhere.
I have crypto mining blocked as well as Malware protection enabled. Edit: For anyone that wants it, here is a copy of my AdBlock extension. It will be up for 30 days.: If you prefer ublock Origin just look for the corresponding.safariextz file. Keep in mind that by the end of the year or the start of next year, these old extensions will cease to work at all in an upcoming version of Safari. It will be terrible since every adblocker in the Mac App Store has terrible reviews. They either don't block ads as well or consume a ridiculous amount of resources. In addition who wants to have apps for each extension cluttering their Launchpad?
I will have no choice but to install and use Chrome even though I prefer using Safari because it is more energy efficient on my MacBook Pro. Use and enable the old Adblock extension. Probably you could not read the last post in the thread you mention before posting here (the current last post shows the Preferences window menu). When first installed, ABP uses by default the toolbar icon. Some people prefers statusbar icon, other people toolbar icon, other people no icon at all (they use the tools menu item). It is a question of taste and browsing habits, you can never say that one option is better than the others.
But when you install one extension first time the more logical thing to do (at least for me) is going to Tools - Extensions manager - Select the extension and Check options in order to select the initial settings. If you do so when opened the Preferences window you will see the menu on top of them; selecting Options you can decide if you want toolbar icon, status bar icon or none of them.

I see only the menu as I explained, allowing me only to add/modify filters, but have no access to options/preferences whatsoever. Setting that field to true will cause Adblock Plus to appear on the status bar, where a pop up will let me access all options, fields etc.
But even then the main menu will show only the same filter fields and nothing else. Cheers, ThufirHawat ThufirHawat. I was actually considering trying to put the menu back inside the window on Mac OS X - might be possible. Yet it isn't how this OS usually works.
As to this particular option - the toolbar has also a menu attached to it where you can find the options: The same menu also appears as the context menu of the status bar icon. And Options are also a menu in the Preferences dialog. Well, usually that should be enough. ABP Developer Posts: 8398 Joined: Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:59 pm Location: Cologne, Germany. Well, usually that should be enough. Mr Palant, I am afraid that showing a WinXP screen shot is hardly going to help, in view of the huge differences between the two UI. I believe there is actually nothing you should do, maybe just indicate somewhere in the doc. That the UI differs between Mac OS X and Win XP, but this would also be optional. Thank you anyway.
